Chocolate Glühwein

Get cozy with this chocolately version of the German mulled wine, or Glühwein. It is the perfect end to a pajama brunch.
Bertrand's Hot Chocolate
What you need:
750 ml bottle red wine- We used pinot noir
500 g dark chocolate
200 g cocoa powder
2 cinnamon sticks
5 star anise
16 oz/ half liter water
for the rim
Werther's Original hard candies
caramel sauce
What you do:
Heat water over medium high heat. Add all ingredients except the wine.
Steep.
Remove spices.
Add wine to spiced water mixture.
Smash the candies to form crumbs small enough to roll around the rim of the glass.
Drizzle the caramel sauce around the top of the glass. Roll the rim around the crushed candies.
Pour in your Chocolate Glühwein.
Serve!
