The Witcher: Baguette with Camembert

with spiced cranberry jam and glazed walnuts


You can get this dish for only 6 crowns in Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. What a bargain!

This dish will not be able to give you 500 total regeneration, but it is a +500 to taste in your mouth! The spicy cranberry jam is full of holiday spices, and nothing says Christmas like warm, gooey cheese.


Baguette with Camembert

with spiced cranberry jam and glazed walnuts


What you need:

  • french loaf, cut on diagonal, 2" pieces

  • camembert, in wooden box

  • 1/2 tsp rosemary, roughly chopped

  • 3 TB honey

cranberry jam:

  • 12 oz bag fresh cranberries

  • 3/4 C white sugar

  • 1/2 C turbinado sugar

  • 1/4 C water

  • 1 orange, zested

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice

  • 1 dash ground black pepper

glazed walnuts:

  • 2 C walnuts, whole or halved

  • 3 TB white sugar

  • 2 TB unsalted butter

What you do:

cranberry jam:

  1. Combine cranberries, white sugar, turbinado sugar, water, orange zest, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, allspice, and pepper in a large pot over medium heat.

  2. Simmer, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved and the cranberries pop, 10-12 minutes.

  3. Using an immersion blender, blend cranberry mixture to desired consistency.

  4. Pour jam into a glass pint jar; cool until thickened and set, about 1 hour. Seal jar and refrigerate.

glazed walnuts:

  1. Toast walnuts in dry pan for 3-4 minutes, until you can start to smell them.

  2. Add butter and sugar to pan. Cook on medium-low heat until sugar and better are melted.

  3. Spread walnuts evenly on a sheet pan lined in parchment paper. Cool. Serve.

camembert:

  1. Remove plastic wrapper. Leave camembert in wooden box. (do not bake in cardboard)

  2. Cut crosshatch marks on camembert.

  3. Drizzle with honey and rosemary.

  4. Bake @ 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

  5. Serve with jam, glazed walnuts, and bread.
